The UWI Mentorship Programme is a unique resource made up of alumni and partners who volunteer to provide career-related information to UWI Cave Hill students. The Office of Student Services is pleased to provide this valuable networking resource to currently enrolled students of degree programmes.
The alumni and partners who generously volunteer to provide information do not have job or internship opportunities and it would be improper to send an unsolicited resume to anyone listed as a mentor. The Programme is intended for individual communication of a personal nature and not for commercial purposes.
Objectives
The main objectives of the programme are:
- To expose students to the world of work.
- To match students with a professional in the field of their career interest.
- To provide an opportunity for students to improve their interpersonal skills and build self-confidence.
- To help students explore their career interests in a practical manner
- To have an experienced professional coach a student on
- career and professional development
- general student development. For example, to identify learning skills that are transferable to the world of work.
- To obtain feedback from professionals to enhance career and life skills.
