A recent economic impact study is projecting that The University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus will contribute an estimated BDS $325 million to the local economy during the current academic year.   

Another Cave Hill academic has entered The University of the West Indies professorial ranks.  Professor of Supramolecular Chemistry and Nanotechnology, Dr. Avril Williams, is one of five new UWI professors recently announced.   

A vibrant roadside mural near the main entrance to The University of the West Indies at Cave Hill now helps to depict the history of a leading credit union against a backdrop of rural Barbados.  

Two of the region’s key economic sectors are expected to be severely disrupted by heavier than usual influxes of Sargassum seaweed across the Eastern Caribbean in the coming months. 

The University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus has achieved a historic first in becoming the inaugural tertiary institution in the region to offer specialty language teaching for aviation professionals.
