Bio

Dr. Connell is a scholar, academic internist/hypertension specialist, and public health policy activist.  He is currently full-time tenured-faculty as Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor equivalent) in Clinical Pharmacology in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Cave Hill Campus, The UWI. He holds the portfolio of Deputy Dean of Recruitment & Research. 
 
Dr. Connell graduated with his undergraduate degree, MBBS, in 2000 (UWI) and DM Internal Medicine in 2006 (UWI). He holds a PhD is clinical pharmacology from King’s College London. 

Dr. Connell is a Consultant Physician at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and is Consultant-in-Charge of the hospital's Resistant Hypertension clinic. 
 
Dr. Connell is the current President of the Healthy Caribbean Coalition, the CARICOM mandated civil society organization aimed at advancing the regions mandate of reducing the burden of non—communicable diseases (NCDs).
