There are 18 approved courses which are offered. The programme is comprised of core and elective courses which include:

- Biostatistics
- Quantitative Research Methods
- Qualitative Research Methods
- Computing for Public Health
ELECTIVE COURSES:
- Health Promotion
- Qualitative Data Analysis
- Quantitative Data Analysis
- Human Resource Management
All students must complete the Research Project and associated Project Management courses.
The Master of Public Health (MPH) is a self- financed programme for which the tuition fee is:
- Regional Students BDS $ 25,000.00 (US$ 12,500.00)
- International Students BDS$30,000.00 (US$ 15,000.00).
The other annual University Fees are NOT included in the cost of the tuition fee.
Applications are accepted from November to February. However, expressions of interest are accepted ALL year.
- Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the Health Sciences, Biological Sciences, Management Sciences or relevant professional qualifications at the graduate or post- graduate level. Applicants may be required to participate in an interview. It should be noted that Grade 1 or 2 in “O” level Mathematics (or equivalent) is a pre-requisite for the Epidemiology and Biostatistics courses.
- Candidates must have their own laptop computers and possess good computing skills. Mathematics, English and computing skills may be assessed prior to entry into the programme.
- A current CV, two (2) referee reports, academic transcript and letter of intent should accompany the application
The Public Health group undertakes research in many areas of Public Health often in collaboration with the George Alleyne Chronic Disease research Centre. Most recently the collaborative operating under the designation, the UWI COVID-19 Pubic Health group, supported the work of Ministries of Health and other entities across the region.
