Established in the 1980s, the Barbados Museum and Historical Society and the UWI Department of History and Philosophy annual lecture series is the prime forum for the dissemination of historical research in the public fora. Most of the lectures are delivered by members of the Department on a wide range of topics including the slavery and the slave trade, the 1930s revolts, intra-Caribbean migration, migration to the UK, Barbados cricket, to name a few. The lecture series on Bridgetown and Panama Migration have been published, while most of the lectures in the last decade have been recorded. In recent years, the lectures were held at the Walled Garden of the Barbados Museum, but the presence of Covid-19 has forced organisers to stream online.
