ESL with Ecotourism

Overview

This course is a combination of ESL and ecotourism awareness and provides participants with the opportunity to learn more about protecting and preserving their natural environments as citizens, as well as learning to do the same in their capacity as tourists, while learning English.
 

Learning Objectives

On successful completion of this course, participants will have a greater awareness of balancing recreation with a need for ecological preservation. Participants will also be able to:

  • Define key terms associated with ecotourism
  • Discuss the role of key players in the development of ecotourism
  • Explain the factors influencing the development and growth of ecotourism
  • Illustrate the role, responsibility and personal impact on ecotourism
  • Identify current trends and concerns/challenges based on their readings and listening exercises
  • Offer workable solutions to the concerns/challenges through spoken and written communication in English
