Students must pay in full prior to their arrival in Barbados. Payments may be made by wire transfer, bank draft or credit card. For persons accepted to face-to-face programmes, the Acceptance Letter will contain the student’s UWI identification number which will allow them access to the University’s online payment system. Students may make part payments to their account in the months preceding their travel to Barbados. However, all payments must be received prior to arrival.
Cancellation of Courses and Programmes
The mounting of each course is subject to enrolment levels. The University reserves the right to cancel any course if enrolment is below its requirements. If an applicant wishes to cancel his/her registration prior to the commencement of the programme or withdraw from a course, he/she must do so in writing and addressed to the
Officer in Charge, Centre for English Language Learning, The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. The correspondence must be sent via email to
cell@cavehill.uwi.edu.
Refund Policy
Programme fees will be refunded in full
only where CELL withdraws a course or programme for which students have registered. Refunds granted by CELL will be made, if possible, via the original payment method. Refunds will be credited to the original credit card used for online payments ONLY if the cancellation occurs up to forty-two (42) days after the transaction date. After, refunds will be made via wire transfer or bank draft. Local applicants will receive a refund cheque mailed to the address provided on the course application. The student will bear responsibility for any costs associated with refunds.
A student may be eligible for a refund of fees, if they have paid all fees in full and CELL receives a written request of their intention to withdraw from a course. Written request must be emailed to
cell@cavehill.uwi.edu. Students who are enroled in immersion courses, short courses with a duration of less than four (4) weeks, or who are enroled in a payment plan, will not be eligible for a refund. See the table below for the detailed refund schedule:
